Launch of Canadian 2016 Star Trek Collector Coins and Stamps

On 12th May, 2016, the Royal Canadian Mint launched Star Trek™ collectible coins in gold, silver and three-ply nickel finish plated steel to celebrate the 50th anniversary of one the world’s most popular entertainment series.The reverse of the $20 for $20 Star Trek: Enterprise Silver Coins depict an image of the starship Enterprise. Only 300,000 of these coins are struck with a face value and price value of CAD $20.
The one-of-its-kind delta shaped $200 Star Trek: Delta Pure Gold Coin recreates the Star Trek insignia. Only 1,500 coins will be sold at CAD $1,299.95 each.
The 4 coin subscription program called the Star Trek: Crew 1/2 oz Colored Silver Coin Subscription features the Star Trek characters in colour on the reverse of each coin. Designs featuring Captain Kirk appear in May, Scotty in July, Uhura in August and Spock in September. The mintage limit for each coin is 12,500 and they are priced at CAD $54.95.
The Star Trek: Enterprise 1 oz Pure Silver Colored Coin features a colorized scene from the classic I, Mudd episode of the Star Trek series. Only 11,500 of the coins will be sold at a price of CAD $109.95 each.
Each coin of the Star Trek: Scenes 1 oz Colored Silver Coin Subscription depicts a different colourful reverse design showcasing illustrations of some classic episodes. The City on the Edge of Forever coin will be released in August. The second, Mirror, in September and the final “Trouble With Tribbles”, in October. Mintage limit is 11,500 per coin and each coin is priced at CAD $109.95.
The Star Trek: U.S.S. Enterprise Coin and Stamp Set feature the Canadian actor William Shatner who plays Captain Kirk along with a stamp of the U.S.S. Enterprise and a stamp depicting a Klingon battle cruiser. The coin and stamp set is available for CAD $34.95.
